A local activist and an aspiring young mayor clash over the best way forward in their impoverished suburb. The original French title of the project was supposed to be «Les Indésirables». before being changed.. In this second film from the director of LES MISERABLES, made in 2019, it still features Alexis Manenti and Steve Tchientcheu, but not in the same roles. From a policeman, Manenti becomes mayor, and Tchientcheu from a local king also becomes a great member of the city council… This is not a social crime drama, just a social drama, just remove the crime element. It is just an accusation against real facts, a real tragedy. Not everyone will agree with what the message is in this film. At the heart of this story is the government’s strategy for migrants. If you want to escape your problems, if you want to dream, hope for the future, this is not the film for you. But if you are brave enough to open your eyes to the real and ugly face of the modern world, modern society, this movie is the best option for you. A very painful, sharp, disturbing ending. Unforgettable.
